Junior Camp 2008
Summary of Junior Camp
Lets see: one word that could describe Junior Camp would be......AWESOME. Junior camp is so different from Senior Camp; the elementary aged kids aren't afraid to get down and dirty, compared with the teens that are sometimes afraid of their appearance. The week started off with a separation of teams, the Sampson team and the Gideon team. The speakers were amazing all week long; the main speaker was Steve Triplett of Cleveland Baptist Church . The kids had chapel twice a day, and the whole week was filled with fun games. One day that was most memorable was Wednesday or Messy Day. It was crazy: kids had to wrestle in the mud, eat parts of sardines, and race in a tarp with ketchup, mustard, and fries(yes, anything you could imagine that was insanely gross, and impossible, like searching for a flag in a pool filled with soggy dog food and corn....was possible).
The Lord spoke to many hearts that week, and it was a blessing to see so many decisions made. My favorite part of the week was when my team, Sampson, won. You would never guess how competitive kids really are until you spend a week at Junior Camp.
All in all, the Lighthouse Baptist kids had great attitudes all week long. They really fulfilled the theme of the week: Going for the Gold !
