Pastor George Alquist

Born in New Kensington, PA George Alquist pursued a carrier as a professional rock and roll musician.  After recording a record and while preparing for a US tour the Lord Jesus Christ stepped into his life and saved his soul at the age of 23.  His wife, Melva, was saved 6 months later and they both began attending Bethel Baptist Church in Erie, PA.  There he became an adult Sunday school teacher, deacon, vice-chairman of the Christian school board and taught Bible to the senior high classes.  He was licensed to preach in 1981.  The Lord led Bro. Alquist to start Grace of Calvary Baptist Church in Erie, PA in 1983 and he was ordained in 1984.  While pastoring he earned his Bachelor of Bible from Commonwealth Baptist College in Kentucky, his master’s degree in Christian Counseling in 1988 and his doctorate in ministry in 1994 from Bethany Theological Seminary in Alabama.  He is certified in Sign Language and the author of several books, dozens of gospel tracts and the Saints of the Round Table Men’s Ministry and appears regularly in the Sword of the Lord.  Pastor Alquist has been listed in Outstanding Young Men of America and Strathmore’s Who’s Who.
